November 03, 2005 - 10:16 PM Well, the WCB convention was a success! It was a busy weekend for me. And to be honest, I didn't get to take part in many of the program activities. But the energy and enthusiasm of the convention was felt everywhere I went. And I've heard many say this was one of the best, if not the best, conventions we've ever had. We had over 200 people in attendance and over 40 guide dogs. A wonderful crew of volunteers and a well prepared host chapter and convention committee helped things to run very smoothely. Geneva did very well. She showed great interest in all of the other dogs as usual, which I was very pleased about, but her work was solid, and when I needed her to lay still during our board and business meetings, she did just that. Very soon, all of the sessions, including our business meeting and banquet, will be on our website for all to hear. Now I am packing to take off for another convention. I leave early in the morning for Salina, Kansas, flying into Wichita. I come home on Sunday night, so this will be a short trip made into a long weekend. This sounds like it's going to be a much smaller convention than ours with less than 50 people, but I'm looking forward to doing a mini workshop late Saturday morning on growing an affiliate, and then giving the banquet address that night. Well, I'm a little nervous about the banquet address, but I would hope these will get a little easier each time. I'll let you all know how Geneva does with these plane rides as this will be our longest trip to date with a connecting flight in Dallas/Fort Worth. Fortunately the flight home is a nonstop. Now it's off to bed. Hugs, Cindy & Geneva
